Book Lovers - a birthday drabble for MsKathy
They sat curled together in the over-sized chaise soaking up the last rays of the afternoon sun, each with a book in their hands. While Alice was clearly engrossed in her volume of erotic fiction, Bella had been fidgeting, easily distracted by Alice’s breaths as they came more rapidly. She’d obviously reached a particularly enticing section.
Bella lost all pretense of reading and set her book aside so she wouldn’t miss the flush creeping down her partner’s neck.
Her attention so distracted by the lover’s embrace on the page, Alice didn’t notice the weight of her own lover’s gaze, and startled when Bella’s lips pressed to her shoulder. She recovered quickly, fantasy lovers forgotten in favor of the feel of Bella’s soft curves. Alice turned, brushing her fingertips along Bella’s chin and bringing their lips to meet in a practiced but passionate kiss.
Bella moved her lips to Alice’s ear as her hands traveled elsewhere and whispered, “I’m so glad I married someone who loves to read.”
