On Top of the World
A girl sits alone by the window in a fancy restaurant. She is out of place in her ratty clothes, carrying everything she owns in a tattered backpack. She knows no one and has nowhere to go, but she is the happiest girl in the city.
For as long as she can remember, everyone around her talked about making their move, about going places.
She actually did it. She stares in wonder at the city she has coveted her whole life.
Tomorrow, she’ll have to find a job and an apartment.
But for today, she’s on top of the world.
